A smaller but notable project is the above oak desk, which is found on the second floor of a guest / library.  It’s unclear what the space in between the bookcases was originally used for, but it was obvious to our client that it was perfect for a desk.

All of the birds eye maple bookcase and trim work is accented by black oak shelving and handrail.  Therefore it was a pretty easy decision what to make the desk out of…

We purchased a flush solid oak door, cut it to fit, edged it with oak, and built two brackets down to the baseboard for simple support.  After all said and done, it was painted and urethaned to match.
