A wonderful spring project came our way to remodel the two upper level bathrooms and bedroom of a wonderful home in Essex, CT.

The general scope of the project consisted of removing flooring, wallpaper, vanities, bath tubs, showers, old tile, old trim, and more.  We then came back and finished off each space new, to a finish that was superb in taste, style, and craftsmanship.

Besides the obvious highlight of polka dot wallpaper, bead board was also strongly themed throughout.  The above master vanity was custom made with in-set doors and drawers in this theme and then finished sea shell knobs and pulls on the doors and drawers.

Atop the vanity are is a new counter surface blending with the natural colors found in the new marble floor and wallpaper.  We used Jado vessel sinks and Jado wall mounted faucets.  The wall faucets were mounted to a custom bead board back splash made specifically to line up with the sizes of the door and drawer units below.

The new marble floor received a custom cut electrically heated floor mat underneath.  The floor is set to a schedule through a small computer on the wall and knows to turn itself on according to the owner’s schedule throughout the day.  Warm in the morning and evening perhaps when rising and going to sleep.

A new tub deck and tub surround was custom made to fit the new Bain Ultra tub.  The surround or tub backsplash is another custom bead board project complete with a removable front bead board section for access to the workings of the spa tub.

The master bedroom and walk-in closet received new hickory flooring, shoe molding, and all new paint.  Furniture and decoration were also new.

Further tile work included the master shower, guest bath floor, and guest bath tub/shower walls.  All were completed with the new “Schluter” system, which offers a complete water proofing system.  Shower walls were completed with Mexican hand made tiles with matching soap dishes.
