This deck replacement involved removing an existing pressure treated deck boards and replacing them with ipe deck boards. Ipe is an exotic hardwood that is naturally resistant to rot. It is 8 times harder than redwood and is guaranteed for 20 years without preservatives. Ipe has its advantages over teak and is available at a much lower cost. In this application, hidden fasteners were used.
