As mentioned in previous blog entries… water damage can be severe.  We installed gutters on this house first and foremost, then began the repair work.

Believe it or not, so much water had gotten underneath this door, that it rotted the framing below and the house was sagging.  The sill of the door was pitched backwards into the house, the doors were adjusted oddly to operate with the large bow in the track, and for years nothing was done about it.  One of the main culprits – a two piece pan under the door.  Water was coming right through the joint.

We removed the exterior trim, interior trim, removable panels from the unit, and pulled the door out of the opening.  At this point, you could see directly into the basement, the floor was gone.

After re-installing new framing, subflooring, trim, and a new CONTINUOUS copper pan… this door has now been installed with lifetime quality work.  Don’t forget to see notice the beautiful flooring patch.
