Liberty Granite Stone Wall

The majority of granite we usually come across on our projects in Connecticut typically comes from Getty Granite in Salem, CT.  We’re told that that the three native colors range from what’s pictured above, “Liberty”, to “Salem Dark” and “Montville Tan”.  Each has it’s own distinct features such as grey blue hues or flecks of quartz darkening the stone.

 

Above is the after photo of a Liberty granite stone wall that was torn down for a remodeling project and then put back together with newer stone from the area.  The wall has a 3” batter to it while it stands over five feet tall.  As the design came to life, it was decided to shift the stairs to the middle of the wall and build half the stairs inset.
