Killingworth House and Barn

An antique house and the barn beside it, joined by a new breezeway. The barn became the main bedroom suite.

The work ran from the fall of 2009 into the summer of 2010.

The breezeway was framed with a cathedral ceiling and antique beams set on the plate. Inside the barn we framed a bedroom, a bath and a closet. In the main house the living room and kitchen ceilings came out and went up to a new ridge, with antique rafters below it.

New walls were sided in cedar clapboards, and the roofs of the barn, the breezeway and most of the house were redone in hand-split red cedar shingles to match what was there.

Framing
