Nine houses, a room and a bank.
A modern house on blasted ledge. A 1790s frame rebuilt from the inside. A nineteenth-century barn taken down in another town and stood back up here. A certified high-performance house. A new gambrel that reads two hundred years old. A twelve-thousand-square-foot estate on the Lieutenant River. A mid-century modern house rebuilt underneath a mahogany ceiling that could not be touched. A 1746 gambrel taken back to its post-and-beam frame. An 1871 savings bank turned into a restaurant. And an assembly hall lined in cherry for a school founded in 1891.
They have almost nothing in common except who built them, which is the point.

A long modern bar on a shelf of blasted ledge above the river. Board-formed concrete, a rain screen held off the wall, and reveal details that leave a builder no tolerance at all.
Barn re-raised

A new house detailed so that nothing in it reads as new, and an 1880s barn shored, dismantled in another town, trucked down and stood back up on new engineering.
